I am a Piano Teacher with over 30 years’ experience teaching from 5 years olds to adults. My pupils either play for pleasure or can take ABRSM exams in Classical or Jazz Piano.
I believe in making lessons fun and once a basic understanding of technique is secured I like to encourage my pupils to explore a wide range of musical interests.
Tuition with ABRSM Theory of Music is also available for students studying other instruments who require a pass in grade 5 to be able to progress to grade 6, 7 or 8 on their chosen instrument. This can be given as individual lessons or a group if required.
I am also an accompanist, chiefly for Ballet, (RAD and ISTD Exams) but have also accompanied instrumentalists, singers and choirs.

Over the seven years of lessons with Ms. Carpender, I have had a lot of experiences with playing a wide range of music, which has enriched my musical knowledge from Baroque period through to pop music. I have also been involved in playing piano duets and even a quartet.
Sally has played for my dance classes and examinations and she has a lovely sensitive feel to her accompanying – I am sure that her experience as a dancer gives this special rapport with my students.
